The £80 Micra runs again after a clutch job that took way longer than it should’ve.

What multiple of original purchase price was the clutch repair?

Oh, my sister used to have that model of Micra. Sadly age and the oxidation of steel put paid to it. Very reliable while it lasted though. My mother had three of them, all with the CVT.

About 50% we did it ourself so we just paid for parts and an aligning tool.

This one doesn’t have terminal rust yet, we repaired some. As a result its 50 shades of primer.

Awesome as long as savings were not blown on refreshments and first aid supplies for patching up barked knuckles. Cheap motoring even if it only lasts until next MOT.

Nothing better than buying a basically abandoned car and getting it roadworthy for not much money.
